General Meeting Minutes
Thursday, September 18, 2008
Welcome and introduction (Mitzi): Introduction of Chapter and President.
Introduction of NEW members (Kris): Introduced new members and asked those present to stand and introduce themselves. Non-members were invited to join; applications at the registration table.
Introduction of ALL attendees (Mitzi): Asked each meeting attendee to stand and introduce him/herself.
2009 Slate of Officers & Directors (Lauren): Lauren asked if any members are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, and reported that Board is looking at changing the number of directors specified in the Chapter Bylaws to a minimum of 7 and maximum of 11.
Holiday
Party (Mary): Mark your calendars for Dec. 11, 2nd Thursday. We are once again looking at having the party at the Orlando Culinary Academy’s Machon restaurant.
Minutes Approval (Lori): Minutes from September will be emailed to members for review and approved at our October meeting.
Treasurer’s Report (Susan): Treasury currently has $18,425.
Education (Mitzi):
1) RIMS Virtual Conf. & Expo. - Nov. 12-13. Registration is free for members, $49 for non-members. Go to www.RIMS.org to learn more & register.
2) CPCU 551 – Comm. Prop. RM & Ins. - taught by Rich Teriecki, Sen. VP. Arthur J. Gallagher’s Orlando office (Sand Lake Rd.), Mondays 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
Speaker Introduction (Sara): Sara will introduce today’s speaker: Lynn Henricks, CPCU, Sr. Mgr. Dir., Beecher Carlson Ins. Services, Topic: “The State of the Industry”.
Thank Speaker: Mitzi thanked speaker and presented a token of our appreciation.
Closing remarks (Mitzi):
· October 16th meeting will be Q & A with Brokers: Willis, Wells Fargo, & R.J. Gallagher.
· November 20th meeting will be a Risk Managers-ONLY Roundtable.
