General Meeting Minutes

Welcome and introduction (Mitzi): Introduction of Chapter and Vice President.

Introduction of NEW members (Kris): Introduce new members and ask those present to stand and introduce themselves. Invite non-members to join; applications at the registration table.

Introduction of ALL attendees (Mitzi): All meeting attendees stood and gave their names and companies.

RIMS Annual Conf. in San Diego (Mitzi/Mary): Attendees thought this was one of the better conferences based on the range and quality of the sessions, the special events, and the evening functions. Mitzi encouraged all to plan on attending next year in Orlando.

2008 RIMS Florida Annual Conference in Naples July 29 – August 2 (Rick): Reminded everyone to register and advise the deadlines. He explained how revenue is generated for the chapter based on number of attendees.

Past President Frank Catapano Passes Away (Mary): The Board approved a $100 donation to the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in memory of Frank Catapano, former risk manager of Volusia County and past chapter president

Golf Tournament Friday, 6/27 (Mary): Ask attendees to mark their calendars. Provided copies of registration and sponsor flyers. Both forms are available on the chapter website. Details were given: Timacuan golf course in Lake Mary, June 27, shotgun start at 8:00am; breakfast at 7:30; lunch at 1:00. It is alright to attend luncheon only—great buffet and venue!

Minutes Approval (Mary): Members approved the last meeting minutes.

Newsletter (Mitzi): Mitzi advised everyone that the 2nd Q newsletter was released.

Registering for Member Meetings (Susan): Reminded all that there is a $10 cost savings ($25 vs. $35) for registering in advance via the website. She also reminded us of the cancellation policy: the chapter will provide a refund if cancellation is received no later than the Monday of the meeting week. After Monday, no refunds will be provided. You can allow someone else to come in your place if you cannot attend.

Treasurer’s Report (Susan): Treasury currently has over $13,000/

Speaker Introduction (Sara): Sara introduced today’s speaker: Alan Moore, Managing Engineer, HAS Engineers & Scientists, Topic: Industrial and Warehouse Accidents. As usual, Sara had a thorough (and humorous) intro. The presentation was most interesting and absorbing.

Thank Speaker (Rick): Rick thanked Alan and presented him with a token of our appreciation.

Closing remarks (Mitzi):

· Thanked all attendees for coming,

· Asked them to leave their name tags, and

· Reminded everyone that our June meeting will be the golf tournament.
